The Tump Clump #58 - 23/40/2026

It definitely feels like spring now.  The Oak tree at the end of the garden is starting to turn green, and there have been some newt sightings in the Tump family pond....

So now, a clutch of apologies.

1) Gravelly voice - plague acquired from kids. Thanks!

2) Pronounciation of various artist and track names once again. I shall never learn!

3) The inclusion of the Tump Wassail broadcast that was originally aired on SoundArt back in January when the Acid Morris took over the Things Happen Here venue for a night of rave and electronic fun.

A nice little collection of noises for you this month, starting off with recent new fun favourite cornish semiconductor corporation... I hope I can hear some more new sounds from this project soon! If you like the track, its available for free download at their bandcamp, so go seek it out.

The Dis och Dimma track is from the momumental Svartfåglar compilation that I recently purchased from Mima Kass - hours of lavish noise and live recordings in a truly dismal style.

Hope you enjoy this little collection as we steamroll towards episode 60... am thinking I might do something different for that.  And also, it crossed my mind, maybe it will be the last of The Tump Clump in its current format.  Perhaps a break to try something different?

The Tump Clump #57 - 26/03/2026

O to the M to the G!

Throught darkness and filth I totally forgot to update the blog with the tracklist and stuff for the March Tump Clump! Thanks to the 2 people who nudged / reminded me. It proves that people do actually listen and are interested in the music that I play...

I recorded fresh after visiting SoundArt studios for the Water Is The Sun Ritual Fever album tour.  A fantastic evening, which started off with Exeter's own Al Fresco Skronk Squadron.  The sound built from a few sources, played out through various battery powered speakers that were subtly moved and adjusted across the performance to give your ears something fresh every now and then... samples looped and layered (including an electric toothbrush head) made for an interesting evening indeed!

Water Is The Sun are an exciting duo combining vintage tape manipulation, synths, samples and a ritual visual element. I was captivated by their performance as it ebbed and flowed through gentle strange passages and noisier energetic moments.  The Higher Close studios where SoundArt is based is also a great space for a performance, so check it out if you are in the area.

So here was the last selection:

01 Hideous Gomphidius - The Stench of a Foul Stinkhorn (Apparitions of the Sporeborn) - s/r

02 Nomad Tree - Enter the dark of Caverns (with Lee Riley) (Shadow Dance) - Aphelion Editions

03 Riders - Slow Horses (She Is Not Alone) - Eustress Tapes

04 Stephen Bishop - Grave Stele (Jerusalem Artichokes) - Opal Tapes

05 BLACKSMITH - Smithy (Blacksmith Shop in Burlington, N.D., 1880) - Destroy All Music
