Recently I made contact with the Institute of Alien Research, from Bath UK.
The label / platform specialises in digital compilations and CDr releases of improvisations, noises, sound art, spoken word and musique concrète.
The head of research, S.Robert. invited me to create an advert for their online compilation of adverts - a maximum of 60 seconds in which to advertise a real or imagined product.
There are now 92 entries in the free to download compilation which you can find on bandcamp, of which Soloman Tump is now proud to be included.
Amongst the entrants so far are gizmo circuit bending maestro Psychiceyeclix, legendary electronic band Tangerine Dream, Musique Concrete pioneer Daphne Oram, Dutch artist Ruud Janssen and S. Robert himself.
Oh, and Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band.
So I appear to be in esteemed company. Another interesting project to be part of, and I am always on the look out for more such compilations and ventures to get my sounds into.
The Institute for Alien Research have many (many!) compilations on bandcamp, a large number of which comprised of tracks that are 273 seconds long (which itself of course is a nod to composer John Cage and his absolute zero masterpiece). I recommend listening to Audio Abstract Sound Collage if you wish to take a first step into this world.
